At Dubbo … Taronga Western Plains Zoo tomorrow

Spent a very pleasant day driving through Western Plains country. It isn’t that green, but not as dry as I expected. Passed through lots of little towns, of note is Gugong … Lots of Federation buildings … Very historical.

Had lunch in Dunedoo, which means Black Swan in local Aboriginal language, and true to form there was a Big Black Swan on a local building. It requires a fair amount of attention though!

In the local park was a better version of the Black Swan.
I can remember a driving trip to Brisbane several years ago and found a trail of planets around Coonabarabran. Well today I found some more … In Dunedoo and Dubbo. I wish I could find a way to make a separate page so all the planets could be shown on the same page … Oh well have to be happy with including them in this blog, and out if order.

Found some more colourful Big Rhinos … There was more apparently, but stopped at 2 in Dubbo.

But more interestingly was the life size bronze of a mother and baby rhinoceros … Very well executed!

No more tonight … Off to zoo tomorrow.
