On the road again! Well, briefly anyway …

Because I have to wait for the new awning to be delivered, I have decided to spend some time on or near the Sunshine Coast to gather more Big Things from my list/s. I am in Tewantin tonight, and did some driving around Noosa Heads. Beautiful coastline and canals. I quite fancy living on a riverboat …

I did manage to get some ‘things’ in Brisbane before I left, but there are more to find when I get back.  To tempt you …
And this famous ‘bust’ at the Telstra Telecommunications Museum, although I would have liked to actually see what was in the museum, but it is only open for 3 hours on a Wednesday … not helpful.
I also visited Indooroopilly to do some therapeutic shopping (lol) and found these 2 bronzes …
One is a Marilyn Monroe Rabbit … weird!

And an accompanying Dog Photographer …

I read the plaque that accompanied these statues, but am none the wiser as to its purpose!
On the way to Tewantin I passed an absolutely awful Big Strawberry … the pic is so bad because there was a huge motorway and very fast moving cars and trucks whizzing past me … I took my life in my hands just stopping to take this …
The first of several Big Things … the Big Shell, fashioned as an entranceway to a suburban house … why???
Now another ‘real’ Big Thing … the Big Pelican … quite impressive!  Love the eyelashes!

There is another one tomorrow, but the darkness descended  and I had to pack my camera away. I did manage to take this photo before it was too late … it is a wall plaque for the Noosa Marina that looked like a decoration on a birthday cake as made by Susan McKenzie in the 80s …

Settling in for the night in anticipation of tomorrow and the thunder and lightening that is expected … In August I was in Gympie not far from here when my awning was almost ripped off my van. I hope tomorrow isn’t as bad!
