It has been said I could sleep thro’ an earthquake …

Apparently I did! Before I arrived outside Hervey Bay though, I did a bit of a wander around this region of Queensland. Such pretty coastal areas, including Agnes Waters and a town named 1770 (silly name for a town! … the year that Captain Cook made first landfall in Queensland).

Travelling south from Rockhampton (there was no 7th bull, but there was one on a roof that I photographed that may suffice!), and no Big Dugong to be found. I did find a dugong in Bororen along with other treasures. There is a cafe called the Big Girraffe (someone couldn’t spell), and the elderly gentleman that runs the place collects wildlife statues, including a ‘big’ giraffe with its own entourage that includes an alien!

There was lots of them … here is just a small sample … I like the Zebra Bench best.

And last, but not least … the Big Dugong!

Onto Miriam Vale and the Big Crab … not particularly edifying …

But the local football/sports complex had this big contribution … a Big Crow … maybe the name of the local football team?

Onwards to Bundaberg, home of several Big Things. The Big Rum Bottle is pretty impressive …
But the Big Barrel less so … more like half a Big Barrell.

Just around the corner is a smaller barrell … not so big, but a bit cute!

Oh and another animal on a stand … a ‘big’ cow lol! No ‘bull’ to be seen …
Went out to Bargara to find a playground that apparently has a whale in it, but it is a very upmarket place … clean streets, big houses, lots of ‘green’ spaces, and beautiful coastline! … no whale to be found!

Now to the earthquake … here I am camping just outside Hervey Bay at Apple Tree Creek … 9.41 am … asleep … felt nothing although I did wake at 9.45 am so maybe it woke me? Oh well off to Maryborough …
